The questions people
actually ask us.
Organized by topic, answered honestly. If yours isn’t here, send it through the form — we add new ones every quarter.
Same-day reply.
Every form goes straight to a human in Green Bay — no chatbots, no offshore desks. Mon–Fri responses within four working hours.
How long until I get my totes?
In-stock orders ship within 24–72 hours. New (factory-fresh) totes take 5–10 business days. Standing orders ship on the agreed schedule.
Do you sell single units or only bulk?
We sell single units. We also sell truckloads. The price per tote is roughly the same — the only real saving on a full truckload is the freight per unit.
Are reconditioned totes UN/DOT certified?
Yes. Reconditioning preserves the original UN 31HA1 certification stamp. We re-stencil markings as part of the process and re-test every tote.
What payment methods?
ACH, business credit card, check, and net-30 on approved credit. We don’t accept crypto or wire transfers from overseas accounts.
Can I visit the yard before ordering?
Yes — we welcome walk-throughs Mon–Fri during business hours. Email ahead so we have someone free to give you the tour.
How do you price empties?
Three factors: cosmetic + structural condition, prior contents (clean/known beats unknown), and how far we have to drive. Truckload quantities get the best per-unit price.
What if I don’t know what was in the totes?
We can still take them, but they’ll go to industrial-only or directly to material recovery. They won’t enter our food-grade pool.
Do you take totes that held hazardous chemicals?
Sometimes. We need the SDS and a sign-off on the rinse procedure used. We don’t take listed RCRA hazardous waste, period.
Will you take damaged totes?
Yes, for end-of-life recycling. Pricing depends on the load and distance. Even badly damaged, the HDPE and steel have recovery value that often covers our pickup.
What’s the difference between “rinsed” and “reconditioned”?
Rinsed totes get a triple-rinse and that’s it. Reconditioned totes go through the full 14-step process: hot caustic wash, RO final rinse, leak test, new gaskets, cage repaint, re-stencil. The price difference is small. The reliability difference is large.
Is the wash water reused?
Yes. Our closed-loop water system recovers ~84% of process water. RO permeate from one cycle becomes the makeup water for the next.
Do you offer chain-of-custody documentation?
Yes, on request. Every tote we recondition has a serial number that ties to intake, prior contents, wash line, and QC sign-off.
Do you ship outside Wisconsin?
Yes — nationwide. Truckload orders go on our own fleet within range. Cross-country and LTL go on partner carriers we’ve known for years.
Will you do residential delivery?
Yes, with a liftgate truck for one or two totes. Larger orders need at least a forklift or dock.
How are totes secured for transport?
Pallet entry with straps to the bed and edge-protectors on the cages. Empty totes also get void fill if loaded in batches.
